How to update Whois for your domain?

To modify the Whois Information (Registrant, Administrive, Technical and Billing Contacts) for your .ly domain, please read the following instructions.

Log into your account.
From the main menu, choose "Domains" then “My Domains”.
Click on "Manage Domain" next to the domain you wish to update or modify.
Under " Advanced Settings" click on “Update Whois”.
From there you should be able to update the whois for your domain name.
You can edit the Registrant, Administrive, Technical and Billing Contacts and then click on "Save Changes"

Please make sure that all the information on your .ly domain whois is correct and up to date, as it is the information that will be used if any legal issues arise, such as domain transfer disputes.

Which .ly domain names that are NOT allowed for registration?

Any .LY domain names may be registered, except domains containing obscene and indecent names/phrases, including words of a sexual nature; furthermore domain names may not contain words/phrases or abbreviations insulting religion or politics, or be related to gambling and lottery industry or be contrary to Libyan law or Islamic morality.

In principle, you are free to choose the domain name. However, you cannot choose names that are in use by other organizations, or names that for various reasons are prohibited or reserved for technical, ethical or national considerations.
